Our seas face many threats, including climate change, pollution, habitat loss and biodiversity loss. The United Nations has called unsustainable fishing the biggest cause of marine biodiversity loss in the world. However, more than 2 billion people around the world depend on seafood as their main source of animal protein. Aquaculture already provides more than half of the world's seafood. This is often seen as the only sustainable means of increasing fish supplies to meet the food needs of the growing world population.
Today's end consumers are incorporating environmental sustainability into their purchasing decisions. When you choose sustainably farmed seafood, you are not only meeting the needs of your customers, but also making our future better.
In addition to respecting the overall planning of the farming area, environment and food safety as required by Vietnamese regulations, the farming area of Bien Ho Seafood also applies international standards at the request of customers in order to ensure sustainable development with 4 criteria: food safety, environmental responsibility, social responsibility and traceability.
International standards include:
- Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC)
- Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP)
- Global Good Aquaculture Practice (GLOBAL GAP)
